Rules Traditional 5-a-Side does not have official rules (which is part of the spirit of the game). To make the game applicable to youth soccer in Colorado, we have adapted the general rules loosely followed in British games which can be downloaded HERE. Final week matches (i.e. play-off games) tied at the end of regulation time will be decided by standard format, FIFA penalty shootout (best of 5, then Golden Goal). As this is an organic game, if the league's managers see a better way of doing things they reserve the right to modify rules as the season progresses. No coaching will be tolerated from any parent or coach to anyone on the field of play. "Coaches" may only instruct players who are currently off the field; referees will give a free kick for any violations. The goal is to let the players relax and learn to solve their own problems. |
