Broomfield Fives has a new look for 2012!

New for 2012:

• 5 game league without referees, coaching or league standings
• End of season 2-3 day tournament (three game minimum) with awards

Colorado's first and best freestyle outdoor Five-a-Side summer soccer league is returning to Broomfield in 2012 at the Legacy Fields. Five-A-Side takes your 3 v 3 game to the next level with bigger fields providing more space for you to get creative, real live goalkeepers and no restrictive goal boxes. Created in the United Kingdom, Five-a-Side is a fast-paced game which gets you back to playing soccer instead of worrying about rules, referees or endless sitting on the bench. Teams are restricted to a maximum of ten players for each 50 minute game, giving everyone plenty of playing time. Games will be played without referees and coaching during the 5 league games. One coach will be allowed on the players side, only to sub. The goal is to let the players relax and learn to solve their own problems. Referees will be used and coaches are welcome during the end of season three day tournament.  

Every team gets at least eight games (five regular season and at least three tournament games) on lush and flat fields around Broomfield:

• Kick-off times each evening at 5:00p, 6:00p and 7:00p (4:00p on Mondays for HS Girls)
• The league will run Monday June 11th to Thursday July 19th
• There will be no games Monday July 2nd to Thursday July 5th   
• The tournament dates are Friday July 20th to Sunday July 22nd
• In case of inclement weather July 23rd to 27th will be used as the back up dates for the tournament
• No adult or HS boys leagues this summer

At the end of the tournament the top two teams in each division will receive awards. Register your team now! Team registration is $300 per team. T-shirts are available for teams to purchase on the registration page for an additional fee. Registration closes June 4th.
